The Kintsugi project was created as part of my final end-of-studies assessment. The objective was to develop a creation built around the notion of Kintsugi, an ancestral Japanese art that consists of repairing broken objects with gold powder, enhancing their cracks rather than concealing them. Built around the concept “Giving a second life to clothing,” the video follows the journey of fabric fragments—production leftovers or forgotten pieces—that meet, assemble, and ultimately form a new garment. This narrative echoes ideas of recycling and rebirth, in direct connection with the philosophy of Kintsugi.
